I have spent the better part of my professional career working in Human Resources. I loved helping employees but soon realized I couldn’t seem to break that glass ceiling and being in HR I saw how people were expendable, replaced by interns and/or their jobs were outsourced.
My time spent in corporate America helped me understand two very important things. As long as someone else signed my paycheck: 1) I would never be paid what I was worth, 2) I would never have true security. After 2 RIF’s in one year I realized I had to do something different. I didn’t want to continue to live with all the stress and uncertainty anymore.
It was at that point in my life that my journey as an entrepreneur began. There were three simple things I was looking for in an opportunity:
1) There was truly no limit to what I could earn,
2) My income would directly relate to the amount of effort I put into it, and
3) I could build a passive, residual income stream that I wouldn’t have to work every month to recreate.
I found a company that possessed all three and I went to work. Today I am blessed to say that every single day I wake up doing something that I truly love. I have a sense of purpose because I’m helping others change their lives for the better, too.
My goal is to build a financial fortress around my family that will be impenetrable for generations. I love to inspire as many people as I can to live the lives that they deserve. I enjoy money working for me, instead of the other way around, and instead of debt and liability; I’ll leave a legacy for my children.
