Re: Emergency Solar Systems π¨

Dear Survivalist,
This type of solar system will allow you to charge electronics when the grid is down, and while setting one up is relatively simple, there are some things you need to know.
Tyler covers the proper amp hour to Watt ratio.
This is to ensure that your panels can charge your batteries in a reasonable amount of time and that your batteries can provide the amount of electricity you think youβll need.
A key component in this solar power setup is the charge controller.
This piece of equipment makes sure that your panels arenβt pulling power from your battery array when they arenβt exposed to the sun.
Likewise, the controller makes sure that your panels donβt push power to the battery once itβs fully charged.
If a solar setup doesnβt have some sort of charge controller, it will inevitably damage the batteries. Also, the controller you use for your system should match the type of battery you plan to use.
Tyler also explains the importance of other technical skills, such as wiring batteries in parallel versus a series.
Essentially, to maintain voltage, you connect all of the positive terminals to positive terminals and the negative terminals to negative terminals.
About the Author:
Tyler White is one of those rare creators of online survival content who is amply qualified.
Growing up on a ranch, Tyler learned about homesteading and preparedness as a way of life, taught by grandparents who had lived through the Great Depression.
Although he had already worked at a guide in Alaska, served with U.S. Army, Tyler knew there was more to primitive survival than he could learn from military schools or other outdoorsmen.
His passion for primitive survival drove him on a quest to track down the most knowledgeable instructors in the field, traveling from Utah to the Amazon to Canada and finally back to Utah.
Like all competent survivalists, Tyler has experience in a broad range of subjects.
Highlights from his background includes criminal justice, law enforcement, archery, small arms, amateur radio, farming, gardening, raising cattle, and poultry.
He has attended classified schools, worked in law enforcement, studied too many martial arts to list, and achieved the rank of 2nd Dan in ShΕrin-ryΕ« karate.
