  • Faith {Belief}
  • Family {Relatives}
  • Friendship {Peers}
  • Finances {Money}
  • Freedom {Inner Peace}

An easy way to remember both groups is by its equation:

  • 4P + 4SP + 5F = {Pillars and Facts of Life}

     What are metaphors and why should I use them when solving personal, family, or business problems?

According to Dictionary.com, metaphors are a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance.

On a side note, I think metaphors are used to take the existing life out of one thing in comparison to another while giving it life in the form of a structured thought pattern.

The reason it is wise to use them when solving problems in life is because a metaphor can convert negative energy into positive self-influence. To do this, you must be able to view life’s circumstance at a perspective that allows you to make it positive. Sometimes you just need to tilt the mirror slightly so that the reflection of the sun provides the light required to see at that given moment.

A single metaphor can significantly change a single situation. By having pressure within your negative thinking, it will eventually outweigh the strength inside your mind. Metaphors can help resolve this problem from overlapping.

     What are parables and how are they important to my life?

According to Webster’s New World Pocket Dictionary {4th Edition}, a parable is a short, simple story with a moral. Parables are one of the most effective tools when guiding your point across to someone or an audience of people. When real-life experiences are explained, backed up by a live testimony, while intriguing the minds of the listener, pictures are painted and relative responses take place. Jesus was a fan of using parables when speaking to his disciples. It was how he was able to help them understand God’s vision for mankind.

     What is an analogy and how does it serve its purpose while being an entrepreneur?

According to Wikipedia.com, an analogy is a cognitive process of transferring information from a particular subject (the analogue or source) to another particular subject (the target), and a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process. Analogy plays a significant role in problem solving, decision making, perception, memory, creativity, emotion, explanation and communication. It lies behind basic tasks such as the identification of places, objects and people, for example, in face perception and facial recognition systems. It has been argued that analogy is “the core of cognition.” Specific analogical language comprises exemplification, comparisons, metaphors, similes, allegories, and parables, but not metonymy.

     What is philosophy and how does it affect my everyday growth as a self-motivator?

According to a recent Google search on the Internet, philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.

Your philosophy affects your daily lifestyle because the way you train your mind on how to think when faced with problems, is ultimately how you will steer your inner ship of self-improvement. If you have bitter thoughts, you end up lacking the wisdom to making better decisions in your personal, family, and, or business life.
